About Piri Reis University
Piri Reis University was established in 2008 on the Asian side of Istanbul by the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation (TUDEV), which has a long history of training seafarers and skilled maritime professionals, as well as participating in European Union projects since 1993 and implementing regulations in the Turkish maritime transport sector.
Piri Reis University is considered one of the leading universities in Turkey and is the first maritime university in Turkey to receive the support of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping. It is also officially registered with the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU).
Turkey’s First Maritime University
Piri Reis University has gained local and international recognition as the first university in Turkey to offer maritime studies and the only university specializing in maritime science, technology, and engineering. The university is an active member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and the Black Sea Association of Maritime Institutions
(BSAMI).
Piri Reis University offers various maritime programs, including Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation Management Engineering, and Marine Machinery Management Engineering. The Maritime School also meets the training, certification, and monitoring standards (STCW standards) established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The university aims to prepare
